According to Microsoft, Vista SP2 RTM and Windows Server 2008 SP2 RTM DVD ISO Standalone All Versions were initially offered on June 22, 2009. What the Redmond company failed to mention was the fact that the remaining flavors of Vista SP2 for specific supported markets around the world had also gone live on the Microsoft Download Center and that they were up for grabs. On June 30, 2009, Microsoft announced officially that it had released the remaining localized versions of Vista SP2 on Windows Update. SP2 follows in the footsteps of SP1, and in this regard it is designed to upgrade both the previous versions of the Windows client and server operating systems with SP1 installed, namely Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 RTM. With the latest Vista SP2 downloads Microsoft is offering all the gold versions of the second service pack for Windows 7's successor packaged as DVD ISO images. A new wave of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 releases is currently available for download for end users running the first service pack of the operating system.
